Am I Selfish to LOVE who I Am?

Am I Selfish to LOVE who I Am?

By Lee-Anne Peters
Growing up I used to be extremely unconfident about myself. I had zero love for who I was, and was conditioned like many to not be selfish, but to put others first! Being a caring person is a part of my nature, however being unloving towards myself is not. I thought it was, but now I see it is quite unnatural for me to being unloving to me.
Lack of self love can bring up feelings like: loneliness, depression, overwhelm.
When I started my self-healing journey around the year 2000 it revealed to me how blocked I was with my own self love. Insecurities and doubts were revealed as I worked hard cutting ties and attachments that others had to me – they depended on me as I served them. It wasn't completely them though - I allowed it! It was time to get my power back!
At times I feel so mighty small,
Especially when you mute the call.
My attempts to communicate aren’t effective,
So I just leave you be and become self-reflective!

How can I hold my energy high,
When all you do is let out an unhappy sigh?
My heart wants to help you so,
However nothing I say can make that pain go.

I breathe deeply, I release that desire,
To help you now – all you want is to expire.
I do my best to make the most of this,
To be true to myself and ignore that hiss.

I breathe again and look in the mirror,
I am real about my feelings – they aren’t my killer.
My feelings help me understand my truth,
And how to find a much needed energy boost!

The mirror is foggy, how can that be?
I look into my eyes and I struggle to see...
There is more pain than I originally thought,
It seems in that net I’ve been caught.

I stare back into my sensitive eyes,
I ask myself, why do I need to hide?
Can’t I just go on as before?
Can I ignore that wave crashing shore?

I don’t want to ignore the feelings I feel,
I want to feel in order to heal.
I place my hand there on my heart,
My eyes glass over, I am eager to start.

I feel the love I have for me,
An unconditional love that will set me free.
This love I have can never die,
I am my best friend *a contented sigh*

I don’t need to rely on others at all,
To say my name - to follow the call.
My calling is mine I see,
No one else can know what I see.

My reflection starts to shine brighter to me,
I smile at me and all that I see.
I say the words – ‘I love you my dear’,
Not based on ego or any old fear.

I breathe deep and welcome in love,
The world isn’t out to get me – I’m free like a dove,
I wipe the tears from my loving eyes,
There’s no need to wear this stinky disguise!

So off it comes, I move deeper in love,
A love for myself – below and above.
No matter what others project onto me,
I am true to myself and I will always be...

Be me, be here, shine bright – that’s me!
If others don’t like it – then leave me be!
For there is only one special person in my life,
That person will not cause me strife!

Potential within the pain we hold ourselves in!
As I broke away it threatened others, however it enhanced me. I began to feel more balanced, whole, compassionate and clear – a new sense of purpose awakened within me – all thanks to loving myself further.
Now I continue to take it deeper… to be aware of my thoughts and words towards me – ensuring they are as loving as can be. Now I have a renewed sense of purpose and genuinely love who I am.
Today I shared on my Radio Show / Podcast on SELF LOVE. In it I shared lots of tips and a live self love meditation / healing. It’s free, and here’s the player.

My Advice for Budding Independent Authors!

My Advice for Budding Authors!
By Lee-Anne Peters
Ten years ago I never dreamed I would be sitting here sharing my advice with you. English in school was one of my worst subjects… and I had a real issue with words for many years. Although this issue was more in the speaking out loud capacity – it was still something that I never thought I would be doing.
Then in late 2010 I was hosting a Shamanic Healing Day in Sydney when I was encouraged by one of my Power Animals during meditation to GET WRITING! I was urged to stop my events for now and write. Usually I am a little rebellious to persuasions from spirit as I like to be in charge… but this time I thought I would give it a try, I thought that I really didn’t have much to lose.
So being an action oriented Goddess I got focused immediately – mainly with the enticement of getting back into my events again (as I LOVE to share in this way). So for the following months and into early 2011 my first book – Temple of Balance the book – was born. I found it quite easy to write as it was based around things I noticed people asking me about often – this way I could now point them to a resource and not have to keep repeating this information.
My first book finished its print run - sitting at the printer ready
to be shipped out! So happy to see my book there in form!!

I sourced out printers that could give me the best deal (as it was essential I keep the retail price as cost effective as possible), and then my book started production. The prospect of holding my own book was extremely exciting and in May 2011 my first book was in my hands.
Now – less than three years later I have recently released my 7th paperback and my 3rd deck of oracle cards are currently at the printers.
At the beginning I was not interested at all in finding a publisher – I wanted my books to be genuine from my heart and not tampered with to fit the market and publishers needs. It’s only been about 6 months now that I have been actively open to being published, but really I can, have been and am doing it all on my own… My only reason for seeking a publisher is for the backing, support and helping my products reach more internationally. However, I have successfully published, distributed and retailed my books and card decks myself, and have twice sold out of a deck of cards that have only been available through my website and at my events. Now we have access to social media and other avenues to release our own products – Independent Artists Rock!
Me in Oct 2013 with 7x of my current publications at the time!
So what tips do I have for you and your book idea…
IDEA PHASE – no matter how crazy, wild or strange your ideas are, write them down, pen them because you never know when you might run with some of those ideas. Do your best not to get fixated on them, but hear them, express them and then take action on them if they call for it!
ACTION PHASE – Your ideas are HOT!! The words are flowing, or, you have made your mind up that you would like to write a book. Try not to get caught up in how it will get published or printed, but enjoy the creative process. Every book has an energy of its own. Some are written fast (my 2nd book of 40,000 words was written in 3 short weeks), and some are longer (my Ascension Mastery Series books take about 1.5yrs to get together). Some books flow easily, others take more concentration. Whatever your action phase is, be sure to KEEP AT IT. Writing 1,000 words a week (which is not that many really) will see a 40,000 worded book written in about 40 weeks. That may seem long, but before you know it you will be finished your first draft! And that feeling is fantastic! *cheers*
MANIFESTATION PHASE – Your draft is complete, and you re-read and tidy the manuscript up. Now it is important to consider your cover design, editing, typesetting and printing.
Your cover design needs to be neat, and if you aren’t brilliant at designing, you may have a friend or family member who is, or keep it SIMPLE. Make your title catchy and clear – it needs to accurately reflect the content of your book. *hint, create a facebook page with the same title as your book to start generating interest
When it comes to editing, you can source out an editor, or, ask a few friends who are pretty good with grammar etc to help you out. Do you know a school teacher? They make great editors.
With typesetting, I have always done this myself, as well as everything above. I usually just use a Microsoft word document – look at other book sizes I like and set my page size to that. Remember keep a generous border (so no words get cut off) and a font I usually use is Bookman Old Style.
When it comes to printing your book I have now found that there is only one brilliant option, and that is through Create Space (Amazon). Their price is competitive compared to bulk printing offshore, they print on demand – so no upfront costs, and you will have your book sitting in the biggest bookstore in the world! Pretty enticing right?
Then you can order copies of your own book pretty much at cost price and share your link to Amazon with your family, friends and customers for sales.
One of the best things I have ever done was to listen to the guidance I received from my Power Animal that day in Sydney, for now I am officially ‘addicted’ to book writing. I currently have three books on the go and I know there are many, many more in me yet!!

Can we all find Abundance?

Can we all find Abundance?

By Lee-Anne Peters

I strongly believe we can all find and live abundantly. The problem that many may have is that they think doubtfully and unrealistically about what abundance is! What abundance means will be different to everyone, so let’s explore it:

- Make a list of what Abundance means for you.

For me abundance comes in many forms – as gifts, opportunities, money, good health and experiencing a general joy for life!

GIFTS: bargains, sales, gifts and discounts can help us greatly financially. Look around for these bargains and notice how much you save. Be grateful for the gifts others offer you.

OPPORTUNITIES: when you notice the opportunities rather than the struggles in your daily life, it can bring many more opportunities forth.

MONEY: sometimes people block themselves here. Believing that they are poor, have no opportunities, no money etc… what everyone requires financially will vary and it will be something personal for you. Ensure your finances EMPOWER you - if they dis-empower you then perhaps look at taking steps to help you shift into feeling empowered.
Be empowered by Abundance!
“How can you bridge the gap between where you are now and where you wish to be?” Lee-Anne Peters

GOOD HEALTH: depending on your general health and lifestyle look at listening to your body and doing what you can to help in this area. If you deal with daily pain then perhaps see if some days you can do something crafty, step outside or do something gentle that you can accomplish for yourself – something small is perfect.

JOY: with pressures released, challenges turned into opportunities, lack turned into a prompting of change, practicing the attitude of gratitude etc this in turn brings more general joy into your life – something that IS attainable if you are willing to feel it, notice it and experience it.

If it’s important to you that you enjoy life more, or to live more abundantly, it may be worth exploring these things for yourself. How you find it will depend on your values, your past experiences, your lifestyle, personality etc… do your best not to compare yourself to others or to judge others ways – as this is very individual.
Bring your dreams closer, bring abundance closer into your experience by taking steps to LIVE IT!

If you struggle to LIVE IT, then look at how you THINK about it – because your thoughts, beliefs and fears will likely be your biggest hurdle. Not your location, your situation, your body, your bank account – you can make the most out of what you have if you wish to. If you can honestly look at your way of thinking and shift it, and then adjust it some more – this is HOW you will start seeing a positive difference in your life.
If I can go from bankruptcy to living abundantly (in my terms and values) - than I am confident that you can too!
